No, my position is that if it was a mutual parting of ways, or even a gently nudge one, that you'd wait until after NSD to announce it.

But DC Vol raised an excellent point, about Baja's guys already being enrolled, and if true, rendering NSD a moot point.

Derek Mason made a huge error not hiring Dooley at Vanderbilt.

I think it went like this.

Bajakian rolled into Jones' office and said "I'm thinking about taking the TB QB job, you want to counter offer to keep me?"

Butch Jones, after seeing the 3 QBs Bajakian brought in all enrolled:

What qualifies Azzanni to be OC at TN?

I'm not saying that it doesn't go in that direction, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

You talking about Jack Jones? He was coming here if I was the coach. So was Stewart. Sheriron Jones isn't enrolled yet.

He's probably plenty qualified to be a figurehead IF Butch is already performing the role.

This is just what I see (not how I would play it if I was HFC):

    - Azzani has been an OC before. WKU in 2011.

    - Azzani has familiarity with the current roster.

    - Current roster and incoming recruits in 2015 and 2016 all have familiarity with Azzani.

    - The WRs all seem to like Azzani as a coach.

However, I'm bothered by the lack of consistent output from the WRs this year. Drops, lack of focus and losing fights against DBs that they are 6"+ taller than at the point of attack.

However, for all we know there could be immense frustration from Mahoney and Azzani due to Bajakian's OC system and calls.

Balsy move just to save recruits. Assuming you would lose any.

He may be really good, but a huge risk. Considering you have a chance to make a good move.

I was talking about Sheriron. I thought he was enrolled already.

Welp, that's the one we could lose then.

He (Jones) did tweet that he is still 100 percent solid to UT.

Football Scoop is saying Azzani is a name to watch for CMU's head coaching job. WTH?

Because of Bajakian? No, neither do I. It's more the perception and how recruiters can / will use (negative recruiting) as leverage.

Damn, I knew numbers were tight, but damn sure didn't think they were this tight we had to tell a coach to decommit.

If bajay is leaving without a job lined up he was asked to leave IMHO

They had probably been using Bajakian sucking to negative recruit against UT. haha

That's what I think. People usually wait until something is lined up before leaving, unless you're Doug Marrone.
