After watching some MayDay activities yesterday in Paris, between the refugees and communists/socialists, if Marine Le Pen loses the election, France is toast and they may already be toast as it is. Sad to see.

The bad thing is, if Le Pen were to pull off a miracle, they may burn down the city.

It was about 150 kids, so I don't know about the country falling apart. This is France, though, they have protests and social disturbances on a regular basis. They'll survive with the same type of fractured, unstable government they usually have. They're not even as bad as Italy.

i was in paris the other night. while sitting at a restaurant in saint-michel we saw cops run by with machine guns 2 or 3 times. also the train station at the airport was shut down for about an hour for some kind of threat, and apparently that's a regular occurence

also it's a testament to the human spirit or something that Italy functions at all

Yeah, Uni has no idea what he is talking about. 150 kids? There were thousands of protesters, many of whom were violent. Throwing rocks, bottles and even Molotov Cocktails at police as well as destroying business fronts. You want to attend a Le Pen rally? Read about the security measures there. Tourism continues to decline as well. Again, if Le Pen were to win, the city will face terrible riots.

Are you referring to protesters, or violent protesters, because the stuff I've read says about 150 kids throwing Molotov Cocktails.

France has a long history of civil unrest. I'm sure they'll be changes, but they managed to still be France after the Reign of Terror, so I'm sure they'll still be a France in the future.

Sure is. Europe isn't America. I remember Portugal as being a little more... seedy or whatever, than I expected.

Love some Le Pen. Looks like she is taking a page out of Trump's playbook. Her quote yesterday about the upcoming debate...

“If he finds himself in difficulty, he can always ask Francois Hollande to come and hold his hand. I won’t complain,” Le Pen wrote on Twitter on Tuesday in a message signed by her personally.

Just bringing the heat. Marine Le Pen: "France will be led by a woman, it will be either me or Mrs Merkel."

Looks like French media is working overtime to cover up Macron's tax evasion.

Tax is theft unless it's someone the Right doesn't like.

Macron now has a full on Podesta type leak of his emails. Amazing. French "press" trying hard to make it to Sunday without this breaking.

French electoral commission has ordered French media not to publish Macron emails. Why are the most "progressive" societies always so scared of free speech and information?
