Figure something to argue other than COVID or whatever Indy saw on InfoWars. Each day I'll throw out a new position group. Today - QBs.

    Who are the top 5?

From when I started following. Mostly graded on how they carried and led the team with play on the field and beating our rivals.
    Peyton, Tee, Shuler, Casey, Dobbs

Schuler, Manning, Dobbs are the first ones that come to mind with any certainty

agreed, though I may have recency bias since I am not knowledgeable on QB's before my time besides Holloway.

I wasn't following UT at that time, so really have to go by what others say about him

    Peyton
    Shuler
    Tee
    Condridge
    Dobbs

I don't think people realize how good Shuler was and how friggin good he would be in a modern offense.

The QB position is one of those spots that has changed so much since the beginning of UT football that it would be hard to compare eras.

    Manning is best, hands down.
Johnny, though not technically a QB, would be a QB in today's football, so he has to be up there.

This may be heresy, but I think Tee Martin was middle of the road as a QB.

And Casey Clausen is often overlooked. Iceman was deadly, especially on the road.

Shuler was a freak, and would be a household name outside of Knoxville in today's game.

Tony Robinson, when he was focused, was also as good as they come.

watching your qb try to run over people with those old school shoulder pads brings back great memories of Shuler. He was a weapon with his feet and arm

I've gotten to know T-Rob a bit over the years through youth football. He's got his vices (and boy does he have some vices), but he's a genuine good dude and is GREAT with the kids.

As always, Tyler Bray deserves at least a mention. He's probably one of the most gifted passers that we've had in Knoxville. Unfortunately, he was wasted playing on some dog shit teams.

Shuler would’ve won like 5 Heismans in a modern offense. Perfect for what people are doing today. And he was a pretty damn good in a 90s offense

And somehow managed to stick around the league for 8 years.

Andy Kelly should get a mention I guess.

Manning, Shuler, Holloway, Clausen, Dobbs, Kelly

I love National Championships but I think Tee was more or less along for the ride. His main strength was being average enough to get Cutcliffe to make the offense more balanced.

One of my high school coaches played with him at Tennessee, he said had he not gotten hurt he would have won a Heisman

Had he had a coach he respected his time here is a lot different

He can still move. He'll get out there at some of these camps playing around with the kids and it looks like him highlight videos. And the kids love it. I've tried to explain to the boy how good he was, but he can't grasp it.

I should probably have him in my top 5. If not hurt, he's possibly #2.
