It's hard to believe how long he was there. I've seen clips of him celebrating in the PA booth in the late 60's-early 70's time frame.
Solid. Was trying to come up with that name earlier. We should do what they did and reuse his voice for certain situations.
This one hurts. There won't be another like him. I hope they will continue to use his voice for "It's football time in Tennessee". I can't imagine anyone else trying to do that. RIP Mr. Denton
This sucks. I've been to 100+ games at Neyland. It will be weird as hell to not here his voice the next time I'm there. A damn shame my son won't be able to here him announcing.
I tried to explain "Pay these prices and please pay no more" to one of my friends who has never been to Neyland. Immediately after saying it I realized it's one of those things that you could never explain to someone, it's just part of the game day experience that I'll always treasure.
