Not sure if anybody here is following this, but things could get ugly in Brazil.

Former President Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva is expected to defeat incumbent President Jair Bolsonaro (either in the first round today, or in the run off later this month). For those who don’t know, Jair Bolsonaro isn’t exactly the type to concede defeat and leave gracefully. He has already been saying the election may be rigged and is known for his support of Brazil’s previous military dictatorship.

This will be a significant month for the future of democracy in Brazil.

Yes, but I would say Bolsonaro has far more support among the military leadership in Brazil than Trump ever did here.

I really wish we could say "happened" [past tense]; but it continues.

And the saddest thing is that the people still in the middle of it (not politicians, but the average voter that still rallies around Trump) are those most likely to be seen wrapping themselves in the Constitution.

Trump is now at fault for Brazilian election issues.

What’s the opposite of TDS? When someone comes to defend the guy against an accusation no one even made. Whatever it is you might want to get that checked out

Lula has taken the lead today, but he won't hit 50 percent. It will come down to the run-off.

of course. You just seem to be limited to commenting aggressively at whichever evil righty upsets you. But you are correct, you can be an angry little flake whenever and wherever you wish.

I just think democracy is neat and better than the alternatives.
