Along with Stoops (which doesn't really matter because it's UK). He has coached more seasons in the SEC East than the coaches of every other team besides Kentucky. Let that sink in. Even the dumbest of our fan base will surely begin to see through his excuses. I wonder if he recognizes this yet. Maybe it will be more incentive for him to leave.
A large portion of his excuses won't work next year. They can't. Sticking around after this season runs a major risk of exposing himself as a fraud.
If the right hires are made in the east,I am really looking forward to the fun next year. Non SEC of course Va Tech is a nice start.
Lack of championship depth is pretty valid. We are still fairly young, though our youth is very talented and pretty experienced at this point.
Being the veteran coach can be a big distraction. A lot challenges that come with that. Really will require focus and preparation to overcome this obstacle. We call it veteran focus.
That's where we get disconnected from the sheep. We see the excuses, see that he has a point, but recognize that they don't validate the types of losses we've had. The sheep don't get the last part.
favored focus. It's hard to play menaningful games when you're favored. Requires huge favored focus. If said game is at home, the level of focus required is nearly incalculable. On the road, doubly so (because of the whole no recruit has ever been on a plane syndrome). Actually, it's mathematically impossible to have enough focus to win any game.
"We don't have championship depth" is a valid excuse, as in, it's the truth. It doesn't excuse losing to Arkansas.
