Tony Franklin, who's the Billy Mays of college coaching, is his offensive coordinator. That tells you how respected Dykes is among college coaches. Both Tennessee and Cal are coached by jackasses that should be at low level bottom feeders
Someone just posted this on the cal board: We are also 3 plays away from being 2-6, but who's counting
He exactly the idiot that drives the train on the march to long term mediocrity. I would think Cal fans could see that guy coming from light years away.
Oh cal fans love some moral victories and pretending the coach was handed an unwinable situation. There have already been long debates about how firing someone so quickly is so horrible for a program. As though we need to see any more of this idiot. Thankfully he wants out and could probably talk his way into the Virginia or Purdue job.
And you guys think you have the world's dumbest ad: http://www.insidebayarea.com/breaking-news/ci_29124455/cal-ad-williams-say-he-wants-dykes-return "We still have big donors, big football alums, who say 3-9 and 95-percent graduation rate trumps Rose Bowl," Williams said then. "Sonny is accomplishing that. He's on his way to a good record.
I don't get that attitude. 95 graduation rate should be the expectation at a place like that, fine. But so should wins! It isn't an either/or proposition, they are not related.
yes. a non terrible grad rate and apr should be the minimum expectation, but leave it to cal to make meeting minimum expectations extension worthy. I hope to god he just put his foot in his mouth and he's really not going to give a guy a raise who has never beaten usc, ucla, Stanford, or Oregon once in 3 years.
