the cal fans are certainly on the bandwagon. i'm assuming Syracuse might suck. If by some miracle we are a lock tournament team he will have done a very good job. the talent and depth is pretty sparse. I was predicting an nit berth at best before the season.
11-2 to start the season. Did he go to Cali and decide to start coaching early in the season finally?
11 wins were almost all against shit opponents (sans Syracuse). though in fairness our second best player has been injured for almost a month, so still impressive there are no eggs.
I don't think he's as terrible as some make him out to be, not that he's good or anything either. Not horrible, I guess, is what I'm saying. Plus, like droski said they've mostly beaten nobody
I'd argue he's a good coach. not spectacular, but good. like top 20% in the country. and I'm not just talking about his tenure at Cal.
Maybe Tennessee really was just a bad fit for him. Also, his style of play is kind of opposite to the roster he inherited. Why am I making excuses? WTF do I know? Tennessee is just cursed.
cal fans were telling me he was going to run up tempo because of the pieces he inherited and apparently he was telling boosters this. I just laughed. i like his style better for the tourney anyway
You know, Droski, I feel for you. At least we have a not-too-distant past (as well as a long history) to dream about in these dark days. What do you guys have? A trucking of a trombone player and that is about it.
