I’ll start by saying that I’ve never understood the Cardi B “fad.” I don’t think she’s good at hip hop, and her lyrics aren’t impressive. And now this. She admits to promising men sex to lure them back to a hotel room, drugging them, and robbing them. Am I off for thinking this should be a bigger deal than its being made out to be?

Whatever rap music was has now turned into cartoon characters engaging in the drug appetites of the tenth grade stoner. It’s not cool/edgy.
Wait, are you two telling me a musician has a bit, at least, of a criminal past? Hmm, that is unusual. Certaintly never happened before now. You two are probably right that, in the squeaky clean world of music, her being a black woman shields her from the usual repercussions of a shady past in that industry.
Don’t forget the Dominican portion of her ancestry... it’s important. She’ll get a pass for any part of it but it’s ok. If it means further dismantling of the worldwide White Male Global Domination machine that’s been ruining humanity for most of modern history then it’s perfectly acceptable for her drug and rob people, especially if they were crackers.
