Could have fixed the offense with Bryce Harper (who was all but begging the Cubs to sign him) or Manny Machado.

But instead the front office signed...

    *checks notes*

Daniel Descalso because their billionaire owner is cheap and thinks he can rest on the laurels of winning one World Series.

So we are going to give the division away for the second year in a row.

Also waiting until the middle of the season to sign Kimbrel was stupid as [uck fay].

Joe has made some questionable line up and in game decisions too.

    I don’t think he’s coming back.

Joe has been gone for a while now, I think. Seems like last two months, there has been a lot of "questions" about his future.

He's been gone when they didn't offer an extension prior to this year. Girardi is also pushing really hard for the job behind the scenes.

I think had the won the WS he’d be back, but since that isnt going to happen, the Bryce Harper walk off grand slam was probably the final nail in the coffin.

Joe was great when these guys were young and entering the show for the first time, but now that they’re all established vets, I think they need a little more accountability than they do nurturing.

Not sure I’m interested in Joe Girardi. I still like Terry Francona but I don’t have any clue as to his happiness, contract, etc etc. The name to watch in my opinion is David Ross, but that comes with the caveat that he was friends with these guys first, which kind of speaks to the accountability aspect and has no experience.

It’s going to be an interesting offseason. They had clear needs that weren’t addressed last season, but will have some more money to play with, even Tightwad Ricketts sits on his wallet again. And the window is still open to contend, but that FA on Baez and Bryant is moving closer and closer...

Ross will make a great manager, but he needs experience. And like you say, he played with half these guys, not sure that will work out well.

I may have to rethink my stance on the importance (or lack there of I argued) of a good closer.
