Seems to have solid coaching creds.

My questions would be.

1) Age
2) Recruiting

 

Is it bad I see any hire as a one year stop gap?

 

I think realistic would be more like it.

 

Jay Graham will hang around regardless I would think. He's a good recruiter and seems to be a good coach. If Rich is hired, I could see just about any coach wanting to retain him. The rest? I doubt it. Hinshaw seems to be a good coach too, so maybe he would stay but it's not like he's a phenomenal coach everyone wants.

 

Don't think that's bad at all. There's not a whole lot of reasons for optimism at this point.

From the sounds of it he has been trying to get out of this deal for several days.

Sorry to burst any hopes but I'm quite certain that if Dooley wins 7+ games next year and team looks improved and there's a solid 2013 recruiting class building then Dooley will be here in 2013 and probably get an extension of some sort. We shall see.

 

7 wins get him a pink slip. 8 and it's 50/50 he stays.

 

An extension with seven wins? No.

 

Keeping Dooley with 7 wins would show that Tennessee doesn't have much confidence in its football program. An extension with 7 wins would basically be waving a white flag at the rest of the SEC.
