They seem concerned with appearances. Butch and his AP improvement, Bearlympics, and all that crap would be perfect. Put on a good face, win some games, keep expectations low, maybe snag a decent recruit every now and then and brag about stealing him from USC... perfect.

Only hitch is sexual misconduct stuff, but hopefully that's far enough removed.

 

If Cal could only find a gay Muslim version of Nick Saban.

I still don't see Cal football doing what it would take to get Chip Kelly

 

not with paying the $6 mil buyout too certainly, but if his 49ers buyout stipulates that any new jobs salary offsets the buyout then chip may not require $5 mil a year or whatever from a team. i'm not sure chip would want to deal with the cal admission standards either. my only hope is that he loves the bay area (it's always said he hated Eugene and being in the middle of nowhere) and he wants to stick it to the yorks and use their money to go somewhere else.

 

as for the nike thing, what's the evidence chip is that beholden to phil knight anyway?
