Not hard to figure. Between '71-86, Louisville made 6 final fours and won 2 national championships. '87-01, no final fours and missed the tourney 4 times, with the last 6 years being the worst.

Pitino steps in, and between year '04 and '14 he has 3 FFs and a national title. I would have told the NCAA to kiss my ass, too.

    Here's a question I haven't heard addressed:

Who provided the information on these schools, these coaches, and this one particular shoe company that got the investigation started in the first place?

    This guy -

    Who is Marty Blazer?

In U.S. Department of Justice documents obtained by ESPN, Louis Martin "Marty" Blazer III is the witness who cooperated with the FBI in its investigation of the coaches and other defendants.

Blazer, a former Pittsburgh financial adviser who was accused of swindling $2.35 million from five clients by the Securities and Exchange Commission and founded Blazer Capital Management, was accused of investing money into movies and entertainment ventures without his clients' knowledge between 2010 and 2012. As part of his plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney's office, Blazer agreed to plead guilty to securities fraud, aggravated identity theft, false statements and documents, and two counts of wire fraud, according to the Sept. 19 cooperation agreement.

Louisville is going to be set back several years. They're already on probation so they'll likely face very harsh sanctions. No big name coach will touch that job.

Only a matter of time until these investigations spill over into college football too, IMO.

Not buying that DOJ stumbled across this while investigating a random Ponzi scheme.

Eh...they have facilities, money, and reputation. If they want to win, they can.

They also have a BoT that was fired and replaced by the Governor(R,) whom the AG (D) then sued for the decision (and every other decision he has made,) so who the hell knows who will be running the university or whether they want to win or not.

ESPN saying both Pitino and Jurich have been fired.

Edit: now they're saying they've been placed on leave.

Turns out that Bobby Petrino was the most honest guy working at that place.
