You’d have to have an upper limit, I think. If the powers are protecting six rivalries, you’ve got problems. If nobody is protecting more than three, South Carolina playing Missouri more often isn’t really much different (from a competitive standpoint) than South Carolina being forced into a silly rivalry with Missouri.

 

IMO every school should get a chance to have their biggest rivalry represented (even if it’s kinda one-sided), which means South Carolina/Georgia probably needs to be there.

 

What with Texas claims on the letter T, logos and whatnot, I’m wondering if there’s a future Texas/Tennessee rivalry in the future.

 

University of Texas would be North Mexico State U if not for the Tennessee Volunteers.
