Is the cupboard bare? Is there enough talent to win 8+ games? Did Butch leave the talent level better than he found it? I know Butch walked into a much better offensive line than Pruitt has Quarterbacks need developing. Running backs should be fine. Wide receivers have 1 or 2 decent pieces, need more talent. Offensive line sucks minus Trey. Defensive line plays like shit but I think there’s a couple of talented players there. Linebackers are lacking except for DKjr (injured) and Bituli. Maybe Ignot can step up? Secondary is trash especially if Gaulden doesn’t come back. Can Pruitt coach these guys up or is this going to be a 3+ year turnaround?
Cupboard bare, no. Here's our 2018 schedule: Sept. 1 vs. West Virginia (Charlotte, N.C.) Sept. 8 ETSU Sept. 15 UTEP Sept. 22 Florida Sept. 29 at Georgia Oct. 13 at Auburn Oct. 20 Alabama Oct. 27 at South Carolina Nov. 3 Charlotte Nov. 10 Kentucky Nov. 17 Missouri Nov. 24 at Vanderbilt I calling 7 wins, 8 if we're lucky. IMHO.
CBS gave us a C. I haven’t made peace with the destructive will of the university. It isn’t personal, but I don’t have warm fuzzies. Bowl eligibility will be in jeopardy next year. I say 6-6. But I am still pissed. I am just hopeful for great recruiting.
We will start 3 5* and a 4* the DL next year if a 4-3. That's not bare according to recruiting rating
It's not bare, but we need to develop some depth in much needed places like OL, LB and CB. And some of what we already have may work just fine if we just factor in better coaching everywhere. The improvement level of the OL could prove to be what makes this a 7-8 win team as opposed to a 5-6 win team. I think the defense will see the biggest improvement.
I think 7 wins is the max for next year. WV is getting Grier back and their stud WR. They're going to torch us.
With Auburn on the schedule and Missouri and South Carolina trending up, I think it'll be tough to win more than 7 games. However, if Pruitt doesn't have us bowl eligible I'll be fairly concerned. He is starting from a place so low that it should be very easy to show progress on the field in year 1.
bama played wvu a couple of times I believe. That should help a little. Just depends on how long it takes to get the shoop out of the D
