"The family arrived in Nashville in August 2000, after fleeing from war in Congo and spending eight months in a refugee camp in Cameroon. Patrice and Nikki had four children then, including an infant daughter, and Daniel was four months from his 3rd birthday.

“Staying in like a tent. No AC, no anything, and it was hot,” Daniel said of his memories of Cameroon. “Snakes and stuff like that, real muddy. … I’m real humble to be where I am.”

 

What a great story. Will keep a special eye out for him this season.

 

I bet if he has 20 tackles against WVU, he'll start again the next week.

The article doesn’t exactly make this clear: is Bituli technically a DACA kid?

I ask because it makes receiving scholarship aid tricky at public schools. Getting ahead of myself with assumptions, but anyway, maybe NCAA has addressed this somehow.

 

He went to a private high school. Tiny Christian school.

 

His dad works for the State and his mother works as a teacher so I am fairly confident his parents are here legally. So, no - he is not DACA.

 

Good friend of mine has a son that played with him in HS. Always said he was legit as a person.

 

Austin Price said this morning on 104.5 that Bituli is the leader of the defense and the Alpha dog over there.

 

I hate fat nerdy guys using the term "alpha dogs"
