Anyone care to take a stab at a 2 deep? David Ubben put one out. The defensive depth chart is very sobering.

This is the only time that’s been funny.

The DBs are going to be young. There's more bodies on the dline. Crouch and Harrison are pass rushing guys that weren't on the roster.

Banks and JJ are two guys at LB that weren't available last year.

The defense is unproven, but there's a lot more depth everywhere.

Will probably be rocky at start and steadily improve over the season. Perhaps with some flashes of nasty.

On defense, the DL is the biggest question mark. We get all of our best players back in the secondary. Taylor, Bituli, Johnson are all back at LB/DE, just dont know what we have with Williams and Middelton. Gooden will be a good player i think. Be interesting to see if a guy like Emersom can bust on to the scene and make an impact.

On offense, it's the OL again. Hoping Kennedy comes back strong and that Trey is able to give it one more shot. Between that and the talented freshman coming in, and all other OLineman getting a 2nd year under Fitz, maybe, just maybe we can be serviceable this year. Certainly not as bad as last year.

I'm hoping Neidermeyer shifts to RB, Weinke to QB and Chaney takes over OTs/TEs like he did in 2012/2013. This, combined with helplessly optimistic hopes for improved playcalling could see our offense being more 2018 Auburn than 2018 Mizzou.

I want Weinke gone, Chaney coaching QBs, Neidermeyer coaching RBs, Friend coaching TEs, Tee coaching WRs and Pittman coaching the Oline.

Well, yeah, in a world where we get Pittman that's ideal.

I wouldn't mind Weinke getting a shot at QB coach, though. He's just horrible at RB and isn't pulling his weight as a recruiter.

I don't think Weinke is going to be here much longer

Yeah, I've got no love lost for Weinke. His time here can best be summed up as us paying him back for being injured and giving us an easier 1998 NCG.

Here would be my best guess at the defense

    Defensive end
    1. John Mincey
    2. Kivon Bennet
    3. Greg Emerson

    Defensive Tackle
    1. Emmit Gooden
    2. Savion Williams
    3. Elijah Simmons

    Defensive end
    1. Matthew Butler
    2. Darrell Middleton
    3. Kurrot Garland

    OLB
    1. Darrell Taylor
    2. Crouch/Roman Harrison

    MLB
    1. Bituli
    2. JJ Peterson/Ignont/Crouch

    MLB
    1. Kirkland
    2. Banks/Ignont/Crouch

    OLB
    1. Deandre Johnson
    2. Jordan Allen/JJ Peterson/Roman Harrison

I think Crouch and JJ will get work at all 4 spots and both will be starting somewhere before the season ends. Kirkland will be on a pitch count if I had to guess

    CB
    1. Alontae Taylor
    2. Warren Burrell

    CB
    1. Bryce Thompson
    2. Tyus Fields
    3. Kenneth George

    Nickel
    1. Baylen Buchanon
    2. Tyus Fields/Brandon Davis

    Safety
    1. Nigel Warrior
    2. Jaylen McCollough/Shawn Shamburger

    Safety
    1. Trevon Flowers
    2. Theo Jackson/Jaylen McCollough

That's a relatively young but talented defense.

So fire him. We’re not in the position to ‘give people shots’.

Get shit done or get the [uck fay] out. Get somebody in here we know can get it done.
