Our best DE since Ellis? Ayers?

This dude is a beast...as a Freshman. I can't wait to see what this DL looks like with him and the incoming 2015 freshmen.

I really like his nasty streak.

He has the potential to be mentioned in the "best we've ever had" category.

That's right. I said it. Just keep progressing kid.

He's an Ellis clone. Just as nasty to the run as he is to the pass.

He's a lot better than Ayers.

This kid is a strait up stud! Got a mean streak to go with his skills too. I have high hopes for this kid with all the help coming in with the 2015 class.

    Agreed.

Bennett reminds me a lot of Kevin Carter.

I'd take him over current day Ayers, let alone the version that played at UT.

Carter didn't play the run like he does or did he?

No doubt about it. If Khalil and Shy are what most think they are just wait to see what he does when teams have to account for those two on the inside. He will dominate.

I think McKenzie and Tuttle will be playing the same tech and won't be on the field at the same time very often starting out. I say Obrien and O Williams opposite McKenzie next season.

Gonna need another SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week out of him this Saturday

    Carter could do both well.

It's also a little unrealistic to think that we'll have not one but two guys come in and be ready to start at DT as freshmen.

With McKenzie though, I believe the hype.

The good thing is, neither will be expected to play 60 snaps a game.

The Ayers that played at Tennessee was never asked to rush the passer either. His job was to keep OL off the LBs. Ayers was a monster against the run, too.

That being said, Barnett is still better than he was, but Ayers was never asked to do what Barnett is doing either.

Exactly. The biggest thing that Shy and Kahil add next year is quality depth. Not saying one of them couldn't break out as a freshman but just to know that we are adding quality young lineman is comforting. Quay will also factor in at some point.
