    Remains to be seen.

I don't get upset over a message board.

    Thanks.

While I agree completely, this guy should never become a suicide hotline counselor.

So we already know he sucks based on real-game results...now this.

You have to hand it to him, he is thorough.

This is the only thing that needs to be said in any Dooley thread.

Now Larry's over there saying that Dooley's saying exactly what he should be saying, and that this is a 7-win team, and people's expectations are far too high.

I want to punch this [uck fay]er in the throat.

the question is why it is a 7 win team. particurally with 4 easy non conference games and vandy and kentucky on the schedule. i dare say a lot of programs would win 7 games with this schedule.

Vandy was a hairs breadth from doing it last season with a harder schedule. Hell, they were pretty dang close to getting 8.

He believes 8 should be viewed as the norm at UT and has expressed that the fanbase has to high of expectations for the last few years. I wonder why?

Because mediocrity and inertia are a dangerous mother[uck fay]ing combination.

The once vivid image of tennessee taking the prom queen into the boy's bathroom stall and hitting it raw dog from behind while his buddies stand on the toilet of the adjacent stall so that they can peer over the divider and check out the action has diminished in size in the rearview mirror of the average Vol fan. As we've moved further and further away from it in time, it's become a tiny, barely perceptible little spot.

Tennessee doesn't [uck fay] the prom queen anymore. Nobody even remembers that we ever did. They see Tennessee whining about trying it's best, and they've seen it for long enough that it seems normal.

That is exactly the question, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

If you set expectations low enough, they will eventually be exceeded.

I've always felt it had to do with a former coach.

    Kiffin, Fulmer, or Majors?

Excellent post. Unfortunately, it appears to be spot on. Good work though.

I think I know the answer. Dooley tries to be so Anti Kiffin that it is going to end up costing him his job. It must be in his contract that he cannot do or say anything bold. If that is the case, then Hamilton is a bigger [ussy pay] than I thought.
