Damn - there's an arsenal of smoking guns on here. At least I admitted to being positive about the guy - until UK. I even gave him a fair chance this season - until UF. Some of the rest need to come out of the closet and own it.

I've got a post from the same time period on TOOS where I predict 8-10 wins and talk about how hungry the team is.

 

Never had me. Getting a little tired of being right about coaches to UT's detriment. Pearl and Dooley have each made me a prophet when I would have preferred being shown a fool.

 

I was freaking out about that post until i realized this thread was from 2011.

(fwiw, i wrote him off after uga last year.)

 

Hope they choose right this time Hat. I had the same feelings you have had on hires for the most part.

Glad I didn't have a post in it.

 

I can't believe I ever thought the guy might actually go 8-4.

I misoverestimated the number of teams he could schedule each year that completely suck.

I've also publicly stated that it was no trick to go .500 in the conference and 4-0 OOC most years at a place like UT. I now feel very naive.

 

Oh man.

 

At least pearl gave US some wins and exciting play. Dooley's invented ways to lose

 

Pearl was a huge net positive for UT basketball.

 

To me it was like buying the best prostitute you ever had, and then waking up later with the worse STD you ever had. Maybe a net positive, maybe not.

 

Cuonzo had the antibiotic. It worked out.
