Look, I get it - these are still kids, and they deserve immense credit and respect for their labors in Orange, and representing Tennessee. But like this tweet says, you’ve got to be better than this. Got to be.
Doubt it. Backside tackle should be getting across E while getting as much of the backside T as possible
What? Are you saying Richmond is supposed get across the End while also getting a hit on the guy lined head up on the Center? I don’t have a great knowledge of OL play, but that doesn’t seem to make much sense.
That’s a tough get for a tackle. But his steps are so bad he lets him cross his face. I would like to see the guard at least realize the guy is inside him and help some. I like the GF2 rules for uncovered linemen. You are responsible for your gap, First fat guy and then work second level. This was bad all around. If I know the guy is lined up in a 4i as a tackle I better work my ass off to get to his play side number.
This is a reasonable view of that play. The A to Z sports dudes don’t know a damn thing about football. Richmond sucks, but this is far from the most damning play of his.
