Pretty much every recruiting service has said UT has probably top 15 talent. UT just had a bottom 15 coach.
Butch’s classes were inflated in the rankings because he oversigned the classes and half of the players he signed transferred.
I guess we'll have to see what the new staff can do, but I'm not so sure at QB, CB, and OL. Pretty iffy on depth even into second string at DL, LB, and RB, too.
This will be the first time in three years the QBs and the Oline have a real coach. The DL has talent, but they don't fit the 3-4. Pruitt and company have their work cut out for them there, but Kongbo and Taylor rushing the passer, especially standing up with no other responsibilities, will make them better. Depth is definitely an issue.
I have no doubt you and I could have done a better job than Butch and his crew coaching on Saturdays the last three seasons.
