On the goal line, I think just going for it would be the classiest thing because it gives them a chance to stop you completely without insulting them with a knee or punt. But I wouldn't worry about it too much. If I had a kicker who needed experience, I wouldn't think twice to kick it. And if fans booed me, I'd laugh if I noticed.
