My grandfather had a Remington semi-auto 30;06 that was always promised to be mine, but my dad's sister talked him into selling it to her son for f'ing $200 when he was senile. I still don't like that bastard.
Here ya go Jay. https://bannedgunsraffle.nra.org/ Scroll down to: * No contribution required for entry. A contribution will not improve your chances of winning a prize. LIMIT: TWELVE (12) RAFFLE TICKETS PER DAY REGARDLESS OF METHOD OF ENTRY. Click here for alternate method of entry. Print off the PDF that loads, and then go nuts on your choice of AR platform. Submit 12 a day for the same gun, and then hope. Also good to note, don't have to be an NRA member. Or pay money.
If you decide on a single gun, copy and paste the image of the coupon for that gun over the other 11. Then you just print 1 sheet per day.
I think I've asked this before, but I'm looking for a good handgun for the house. The wife is finally open to the idea. Uses will be - 1. Get my carry permit (just because). 2. Go to range occasionally 3. Have it in house and pray to God it's never used there for any reason. Help?
Go to a gun store and see what feels right in your hands. Bonus points if it is a shop with a range to test them.
Ask your friends to borrow theirs too. Shoot as many as you can before you make a decision. I prefer a Glock but for the home nothing beats a pump action 12 gauge.
Yep. Find a range with reasonable rental rates. Tactical Advantage Corp (formerly Coal Creek Armory) in west Knox charges a flat $10 fee to try any of the handguns in their rental selection. Bring your ammo and they may not even make you by their ammo, otherwise you have to factor that into the cost. Like others have said, just narrow down first based on ergonomics and comfort. You can also narrow down based on things such as safety vs. no safety, single action vs. double action, etc.
I have the Commander model for off duty. It's a great shooter right out of the box. I qualified for carry the first time I shot it. Great gun made in 'Merica.
Unfortunately, no. He had a 33 rounder somewhere but I just opted to shoot the 17 rounder. It was gone in 3 or 4 bursts.
