So, the sad part is people tie their lives to political parties?

    Makes too much sense

He'd be too much of a Jack Ryan type.

That's why democratic societies don't work well. 51% dictate the other 49%.

I think the house of representatives should be expanded creating smaller districts. This would give the people more of a voice.

It may help for a short time, but I would fear it would be temporary and have little effect on the political climate.

The cash flow would be a game changer.

They debated intensely, but now political parties are treated like sports teams. It's really an us against them mentality, and the issues don't matter.

It was actually worse in the 1800s (Things like Andrew Jackson's mom being called a whore and Lincoln not even being on the ballot in many places in the South), but seemed to get better during the 20th century. Now it's just getting too weird, affecting personal relationships and such.

We'd be better off if they still settled political beefs by dueling...

There should be one for every 30,000 people, IMO. Would also help to break up the two political party system and special interest.

I don't know. All these pansies would just agree on everything.

Where are you going to put 10,000+ congressmen/women?
