Howland Reed did in the show. Hasn't really been explained in the books.

All we know is Ned said he would have been killed if not for Howland Reed. It never specified all. It would be cool if he comes up with something different.

He just had it reversed. Arthur Dayne killed the Smiling Knight

Coincidentally, a young(er) Barristan Selmy once defeated (but obviously did not kill) The Smiling Knight too. I had totally forgotten about that. Can't remember when it was mentioned but found it in a quick check of the wiki

Seems like the Smiling Knight killed an associate of that one guy that traveled with Brienne for awhile. Maybe.

But just thinking about all the big time stuff that hasn't been resolved, 6 episodes next season doesn't seem like enough.

Possibly. I'll expect they'll spend most of their time in the North.

Kinda sucks that I have to wait over a year for the next episode after watching 67 in about 2 1/2 months.

Some of my favorite moments from the first seven seasons, in no particular order:

The birthing of the dragons, the dramatic culmination of Hodor's storyline, everything involving Ygritte, the flashback to the creation of the white walkers, the deaths of Joffrey and Ramsay, the destruction of the Sept of Baelor, Cersei's speech to Unella before sicking the Mountain on her, and Cersei's creative punishment of Ellaria Sand.

I built this a couple seasons ago. Even bought some nights watch mugs and drinking horns. Just in case someone comes out of the woods one day needing some ale winter.jpg

Hodor's final scene was as good as anything they've done.

Read a reddit that pondered on whether the Mad King was saying "Burn them all" in response to Bran flashing back into him, and talking about burning all the white walkers.

And the first comment was like "Damnit Bran. Is there anything that wasn't your fault?"

I think I'm gong to use this interim period to watch it again. It wasn't until the 2nd season that I knew who most characters were, or anything about the different houses / factions.

Seems unlikely. He set all that pyromancer stuff everywhere for a reason.
