I've been out of the loop, but this seems to have come out of nowhere.

He did strike out at signing a second running back.

I think we’ll upgrade and it feels good to be rid of Butch’s staff completely.

It was noted last week that he was the only staff member not extended. Maybe that was the hang up? This doesn't seem like the typical "head out after NSD" situation.

I wouldn’t oppose Weinke. I figured Jay Graham or maybe Georgia’s RB coach.

 

Graham followed Jimbo to A&M, so it’s doubtful that he’d come back.

 

Jimbo has already done a good job of pissing of a huge portion of the high school coaches in Texas.

Graham would be smart to be looking to attach somewhere else.

Yes, Gillespie was named recruiting coordinator under Pruitt. I imgagine it was agreed upon that he would leave after signing day from the get go.
