I think he was at some point. I saw where Pruitt had him named recruiting coordinator also. Not sure where I saw it. Edit: it looks like he was recruiting coordinator at least this pst season under Butch.
Jimbo is pretty involved with 7 on 7 “coaches” which is basically the football version of AAU. There’s some pretty shady stuff going on with it with California leading the way. Texas 7 on 7 is more tied to the high schools and the coaches running it, instead of the handlers that do it in open leagues. Jimbo basically called it out and acted like California’s model was better. Which didn’t go over too well in Texas.

It’s not hard to coach running backs. That’s the position that freshman can get on the field the easiest, same for NFL rookies. Get talented backs, end of story.
Could look at that way or also look at it also as he had to find talent across the country to come to IMG as well. Interestingly enough, I know a kid that is being recruited by TN among others that recently went to IMG, only to return because at least 2 schools told him they can not accept kids from IMG due to some academic uncertainties.
