SOrry. I thought that sounded wrong. Still, 125 yards or something is pretty bad.

I just don't think they've been that great post Georgia unless they were playing complete pushovers. Even against Miss St and Arkansas they were not moving the ball at will.

ftr we had over 450 yards in those games and avg 7 ypp. I’ll take that all day.

I bet we didn't exceed their season averages by much if any. Especially in the SEC.

Well Redmon, Staley, Spillman, and Perry are freshman all-americans. Most on one team.

I am not saying with a full chest that you are wrong. I am just pointing out a few counterfactuals.

Ya, how many possessions did they get? ToP? The vols marched down the field in the first quarter but only had the ball one real possession.

The inability to adapt to 3 deep safeties may be the most frustrating. We abandoned everything that made the early Heupel offense exciting and effective - wide splits gone, tempo gone, 12 personnel in - and yet we still get neutered by teams playing cover 3 and cover 4 with 3 deep safeties.

They are solid. They don't make me think we have championships in our future though.

We averaged exactly 5 yards per play.

That’s why you need a defense to get the other team off the field so you can take another crack at it. It doesn’t always work perfectly every week

The defense is horrible. Aguilar and the offense are maybe good enough if the defense is average. I don't think we disagree that much. Maybe I am just arguing with my September self, who thought we might have the best offense in the country

We now know UGA was some bizarre fluke.

Based on blue chip ratio our roster should be championship level. That's a problem.

Absolutely. It's an indictment on coaching, talent evaluation, or development (which goes back to coaching). I like Heupel a lot, but this staff sucks hard.

We probably have more talent on the roster top to bottom, but I’m not sure the two deep is that much better than it was when Heupel got here. It probably is on defense, but not offense.

I think players having some time under Pruitt's S&C is underappreciated.

The current S&C is a huge part of the problem IMO. VQ has even started mentioning it recently. Hopefully we switch it up next year

There was a culture problem this year. S&C plays a big part in shaping the culture. We looked like a soft ass team. We also lacked player leaders and our HC is kind of an OC playing the part of HC. That might work if you have a rock solid coaching staff around you but we had a shitty unaccountable DC who wouldn’t even talk to the media (and his boss allowed it), a fake OC, and various position coaches who no one that we’re trying to compete with would even hire for an analyst role.

I think the culture took a real hit with the Boo Carter bullshit. That guy was a cancer and Heupel let him stay after no showing the whole off season. That shit never would’ve gone over well, but in the NIL era when guys are looking around and comparing their paychecks and they see a highly paid guy being allowed to get away with that shit…not good.
