Because he can’t fix driver. Hasn’t in 20 years. He’s best ball striker with irons in the game. Courses where he can eliminate the driver completely give him a shot.

And this week’s setup wasn’t punishing enough for missing fairways due to soft greens.

Plus if he tries to start crushing it again off the tee that back will flare up again.

Years of steroid abuse will hurt a back.

Worst thing that ever happened to Tiger was Foley trying to convince him to hit a draw. He's not been right since.

When you hit the ball 300+ yards on the fly, wtf do you want to play a draw?

    Hope the beer is cold.

I'll wear my gray power T hat with
"Poppa T" embroidered in the back. Look for me. My Silverado NC license plate says "IMAUTVOL".

    Hit em well.

This would make more sense to me if he was struggling to make the top 20. He finished 2nd yesterday. He’s playing at a high enough level to win another major, in my opinion.

I see what you’re saying and agree with it, to a degree though.

Exactly. Power fade is his butter.

He finished 2nd because of setup and the fact he can flight his irons like a boss into soft, receptive greens. If this was U.S. Open track this week, he doesn't make cut.

Bethpage will have a similar setup, length wise, won't it?

That said, he won't be making miraculous saves if he misses fairways at Bethpage, that course is filthy

I love scrambles. Unless my team members suck. I'm not a scratch golfer but I can play pretty decent so as long as I have a decent team I enjoy the shit out of them.

Alright, what is everyone's best golfer of all time list?

    1) Tiger Woods
    2) Jack Nicklaus
    3) Ben Hogan
    4) Bobby Jones
    5) Young Tom Morris (just cause)

I like Player more than Palmer. I think I woefully under-appreciate Snead, and admit it.

As always, these lists are more like a grab bag anyway. You would take any of these golfers and take on the world and win.

Arnie and Jack changed the game. If not for Arnie, the game wouldn't be where it is today. Tiger opened the door for a different demographic to fall in love with the game. Arnie opened it up to everyone.

What would Jack and Arnie do with this technology. There are also more good golfers now. Technology and taking the hands out of the game, for instance with putting, is huge of course. Could these players today play with persimmon pings, dead balls, etc.
Jack, arnie, Bobby Jones swing, Snead, Tiger are all there.

Biggest change in golf has been the golf ball. These things now just go straight and damn near impossible to work.

The balls and the driver face size have changed golf irrevocably. I am very glad they stopped allowing the players to anchor their putters on their stomachs. Wish they had stayed ahead of the game 30 years ago and not allowed these Mickey Mouse drivers to come into the game.
