Played today. Shot a 77. Got home and 4 gatorades in im still cramping all over. Too old for this shit in this heat and next week is going to be worse
I find Patrick Reed to be fascinating, but I don’t root for him either way. He just exists. DeChambeau is also fascinating, but I wouldn’t be upset if he wins.
As nolayingup said, someone always screws up the mega playoff, but if you are gonna do it, it might as well be on that shot.
So our club has a different youth program this year, and I really think it's pretty neat. It's called operation 36: https://operation36.golf Basically, they have weekly short game clinics and then challenges. You have to break 36 on a 9 to pass the challenge, first from 25 yds, then from 50, then 100, getting progressively longer until you get to the actual tee boxes. Anyway, I think it's a pretty interesting way to teach the game, and it beats the shit out of the PGA Jr program they've had for the past 3 years or so, It's also a nice complement to the Jr tours around here,
Kids today are so much better than when i was young when HS kids were shooting in the 80s. Few buddies of mine have had kids on sneds tour. 3 of them heading off to D1. 17 yrs old and a +2
Everybody knows you don’t touch the sand. C’mon guy. https://golf.com/news/us-amateur-caddie-bunker-incident/
Just bought me a new set of TaylorMade p790s. Hard to part ways with the current sticks, but it's time.
Man, watching Rick Shiels and others on YouTube these days as I get back into it. $1200 for a set of irons? $500 for a driver? $300 for a PUTTER? I will have to stick with my 20+ year old Titleist DCIs.
Warrior! Get a set of sticks and Driver for $350 a with decent shaft. Good enough. Forgiving Nyy prolly using blades and i bet he likes XS shafts
DCIs are solid. Technology has come such a long way. My biggest concern with the new sticks that are coming, is that all the reviews talk about how hot they are and the advancement in distance. I hit them on simulator and there was a noticeable difference in yardage, substantial in fact, but it concerns me how they will play out on the course.
As long as you still hit them high and get enough backspin, more distance should be better. Now, low rockets hooking in fast and hard will be bad. I just don't have the desire to hit blades.
Not really about having a desire to play with blades as much as it’s having the skill level required to use them properly. I have neither.
