After riding JG to two inexcusable losses, only getting Maurer TWO attempts against UTC, and then throwing him to the wolves in Gainesville. He's mismanaged the QB position as poorly as possible this year.
Yep. That was a game losing play. Flipped momentum and the team did not believe JG could get them a W, nor did the coaches, which is why they called 3 plays the rest of the game.
But Worley had to die twice and Peterman had to break his hand for Dobbs to finally be named the outright starter
Yeah...Nobody saying Butch handled that QB situation correctly but playing the Butch had Dobbs card doesn’t hold water for me. It’s the coaches job to find a QB. Maybe he has.
Way off topic, but how did Dobbs come to be here? Was it just ratings, or did someone on staff see him and convince Butch that they had to go after him?
The aerospace program and being closer to home than Arizona State. I think they offered him a chance to play baseball too, but he decided he couldn't juggle his major and two sports
Butch got really lucky Dobbs wanted to major in an off the wall engineering degree that isn't offered many places
Yes and that stupid bastard still tried to bury him. Remember when he was telling everyone that Riley Ferguson was his QB of the future before the '13 season started?
Weinke, Rocker and Sherrer are all gone. They've stopped recruiting entirely. Apparently Tee has been planning for awhile on leaving after this season if he can find a good gig, which shouldn't be difficult. Will be interesting to see the level of coaches Pruitt can convince to come here after all this.
Not sure that people are going to line up for Tee. He’s probably QB Coach next year anyway. Also, he’s assistant head coach here and if something happens to Pruitt, there will be a large contingent of people wanting to make him the interim.
We'll obviously see how the rest of the year plays out in regards to a possible interim, but he was alarmed at the disorganization as soon as he got here. Hasn't killed himself on the trail because of it. Would imagine he could find a good paying job as a hired gun pretty easily. Hopefully Pruitt and Fulmer can convince him to stay and others to come aboard after winning some of these down the stretch, but we'll see. Pruitt would really benefit from an Austin Thomas like hire at this point, IMO.
Not sure why he didn't realize this the first go around. Would be in a completely different spot right now.
