The more I watch the 49ers offense, the more I think "Heck, if we're going to take a chance on an unproven commodity, I wish we'd given that guy a shot."

Good. I'm not the only one watching this game and coming to that conclusion.

Anyone have any idea how much of a role Harbaugh plays?

All I know is the guy has had at least half a dozen interviews for head coach, including lowly cal, and has yet to have landed one. This generations norm chow or Ron Rivera. Never seems to work out for the guys who can't ace the interview.

Doing a good job in utilizing Kaep.

Hard to imagine that Charlie Strong aces interviews. That man rambles.

I bet 10 dollars on SF (+ 5) to win straight up. I wish it had been more.

Dude interviewed for the cal job back in 2001 so I imagine he isn't a great interview if it took him that long to get hired. He'd be an example of a guy who sucks at interviewing, but is a good coach. Strike 1 against my theory.

It was safe. It could be hard to call these types of matchups. I bet no one expected the Falcons to run over the Giants like that.

Tony Dungy had about a million interviews before the Bucs hired him.

He was a highly respected coordinator. Hard to assess a guy who had loads of talent at his disposal at both of his stops.

His teams won the Super Bowl twice. He just didn't get two rings.

It's possible Ron Rivera wasn't hired because he's not a very good head coach, dros. He's cost the Panthers three wins this year easily.

Maybe it was the perfect storm of good ownership and great players for Tony D., but every Hall of Fame coach that went to Tampa Bay before Dungy did terrible. He's gotta get some credit for changing the culture there.

I agree, but I wonder if the same guys who can't ace an interview also don't have what it takes to be a head coach.
