We apparently needed them before this. I'm just saying we only have so many shots at adding to them for replacements and Phillips is a big shot

My two cents on Phillips. One, my son plays for West so I got to watch a lot of game tape on Phillips (at least 9 games) and the championship game. Not impressed with his technique or motor. Does not play through the whistle. Playing both ways doesn't help but I just wasn't impressed.

Second, I talked to John Chavis last Friday at the game. We have a mutual friend in Knoxville. LSU is recruiting him as a DE and said if he goes to UT, they will try and move him inside. That may change with Hendrix leaving.

 

They want Jackson to be an offensive tackle

 

Jackson is the Maryville kid. Phillips goes to Hillsboro

 

These kids gave it one semester, how afraid of competition can you be? Good luck at Miami of Ohio.

I know. I think Dylan is a better DE than Phillips.

West played Hillsboro in the championship.

 

The only one that stings is Hendrix and he wasn't going to start until his senior year anyways. Would've been nice depth to have behind Barnett but like others have said, get Phillips and Hendrix is replaced instantly.

Scott was never going to take carries away from Hurd or Kamara.

Helm got beat out by a former walk on at TE when Wolf went down.

Standard 10-15% attrition rate. It happens. It'll happen again next year and the year after...

 

Doubt it. Not saying it isn't possible but I would be surprised.

Bright side is we are getting one 4* player tomorrow for sure.

 

It's stand for guys who can't play at this level to leave. It's not standard for quality guys to leave a few months in.
