I don’t know how many portals we can load up on. We don’t have 105 scholarships but 80ish. 45% of our roster were freshmen or RBs Fr. Add in the recruiting class and we are over 60 scholarships not including jrs and srs.
How important is a scholarship if you are being paid 80 or 100k a year? Seems way better than just a scholarship was 5 or 10 years ago.
true. I don’t know how much guys down the line get but if players can negotiate both l it appears someone will pay
Honestly, I'd like to see a hybrid system of scholarship/"salary cap" is in the works. Maybe something like if a certain amount of dollars are spent on NIL, they only a certain amount of scholarships are allowed. Or is that just dumb?
I didn't think it this one through. Limiting a roster based on money spent is dumb. The main thought behind this was to try and tame the portal defections and renegotiations of NIL for players after getting on campus (Nico for example). A cap on NIL would probably solve or at least help with that. But that depends on how the cap is implemented also because I do see NIL as beneficial by giving more teams the opportunity to become competitive and of course, players getting a greater share of money being made off of their work. So in other words, that last post was me rambling.
Same boat, if Banks isn't even doing much recruiting in landing the guys we just got what the [uck fay] is he actually doing for $2 million a year?
I’m not sure how I’d forgotten, but he was Butch’s DC at both CMU and Cincinnati. With that context, things make more sense. Edit: Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. I read the wiki pages of each 3 times this morning in disbelief, hoping I hadn’t had enough coffee.
Dunno, but I restarted Retro Bowl and put 55 on Tennessee with MTSU. DBs are about as slow on that game as they are in real life.
That is correct, it's reason 1A, 1B, 1C, all the way to Z not to keep him. Let me add after we run out of letters we can go to numbers which are infinite. We run out of numbers we go greek alphabet etc.
