The QB situation got mismanaged that year but I'm not ready to assume that Ainge or whoever would have otherwise been great

 

Ainge should have been named the starter from day 1. That's what they recruited him for. Having him battle into the year with Clausen was asinine.

 

Ainge would have been able to throw the football further than 18 yards. He wasn't great in 04, 06 or 07 and Tennessee went to the SECCG twice and finished with no less than 9 wins.

Clausen would have been fine on the bench.

 

He was light years better in 06-07 than when he played in 05. Not disagreeing he should've been the guy from the start though

 

One big reason he played like dog shit is having to look over his shoulder for that fat pie faced Clausen.

 

We're also forgetting that our line was so fat and slow in 05 that they waddled on and off the field.

 

As opposed to 06 and 07 when they were ___________?

 

Imagine the psyche of an uber talented 19 year old that is being forced into alternating possessions with a no talent hack that had already washed out of an SEC school?

 

Compared to 05? All-Americans. 05 was awful. 06-07 there was just no emphasis on a power run game under Cut.

 

They were always a unit of 5 fatass lummoxes under Johnny Long.

 

It works for me, I have no idea if I will get the SEC network.
