I mentioned him. One of the first RB'S I really started noticing growing up. Loved the nickname. He was a dang good back.

Hardesty had the talent and just that nasty "run through a brick wall" attitude to go with it, just sucks he couldn't stay healthy.

He was healthy for a decent amount of 2007 and 2008 and did little. Had Kiffin been around for more of their careers Hardesty/Foster would have been one of our most productive duos ever and Foster's fumbling crap would have been fixed after one season.

Yeah, but that was all post injury, which matters. Had he been healthy those seasons with no prior injury, he probably/likely looks alot different.

A&M - toss up, i'd lean towards win
    Troy Trojans - win
    ltech - win
    Kentucky - win
    mizzu - win
    bama - loss
    Arkansas - win

I wouldn't call AU or Arky clear wins for Northwestern.

Some apples to oranges yards per carry stats.

Charlie Garner rushed for 6.7 YPC in 1992 and 1993 (he was a JUCO guy). That's the highest average of any Tennessee back with at least 1000 yards in modern times. He's the only guy to average over 6. On the same teams, Stewart was 5.5 per carry and Hayden had 6 per carry (though Hayden's average is much lower if you factor in 1991 and 1994). No doubt that Stewart's average is hurt by so many goal line situations.

In 1989, Cobb went 6.8 yards per carry, Webb went 5.9. Cobb's average carry was arguably against stiffer competition. That said, playing against weaker competition is not necessarily better for YPC as it leads to a lot of late game runs with the lead where the defense is stacking the box. That hurt Webb.

Lewis averaged 6.8 ypc in 1998 before getting injured. When Henry took over, he averaged 5.5. Lewis had a much lower YPC in 1999 (4.5) while Henry averaged 6.3. That's a big gap and I think we can all agree that Lewis either wasn't full strength or was protecting himself for the draft.

Foster, Graham, Hardesty, and Stevens are all under 5 ypc for their careers. Surprisingly (to me) Cedrick Houston is at 5.3.
