There are a lot of good things going on. The most important of those is that he treats the players really well.
The one thing I put my faith in after this TaxSlayer victory is the trophy for the game won't be sitting in Puitt's lap on the plane ride home. In fact he may leave it in Jacksonville at least I'd like that to be story.
Last I saw on twitter, Jennings had it and was walking down the corridor with it. It looks like he might be the one to escort it back to campus. We'll stick it in the case and just be sure to put it in classier company in the coming years I hope.
In some ways I feel link we should be farther along, and in other ways I feel to be on the right side of .500 is a minor miracle at this point, so it's probably where it should be. He's taught them how to fight, and I hope that trait carries on now that Jennings and company have finished. Need a QB and to refine some stuff, but 8 or 9 wins was where this team was topping out this year regardless. Oddest way in the world to get to 8 wins, but we wound up in the area most expected in August.
I will be honest, I sorely, sorely, sorely underestimated how [uck fay]ed this team was after Butch. It has taken a year and a half just to scour and scrub and bleach that taint off of our campus. I never dreamed it was that bad. I honestly thought we would go 9-3 this year and would fight for the East. Again, I was dead wrong. But to get to 8 wins after that start is a damn miracle. Let's hope it carries over into next year. But we have got to get a quarterback. It is painful watching this team with JG behind center.
I thought scrubbing the entire campus of Dooley was hard. Getting rid of all the things Butch has proven to be a much more daunting task.
Yeah, I was wrong early on. I never thought butch would amount to much, but I did think the program would be better off when he left than when Dooley did. I was so, so wrong. I mean it was crystal clear that was going to be the outcome by midway through Dobbs' senior season, but early on, the recruiting "looked" better.
To be fair, we were #9 at one point with Kamara in the backfield behind Dobbs on 230 CBS game. It was all Dobbs doing and some skill positions, but looking around nfl now there are too many guys playing who were on those teams, so there were some solid recruits but not focusing on the OL and front 7 on D screwed us as much as anything as far as recruiting
Yeah, that was the case, but by then it was obviously all smoke and mirrors. Those were teams that should have won the division at least.
