Just as a general feeling or idea, which of the following coaches do you think will actually be on staff next season? Put a vote for as many as you feel are likely to be here after the dust settles.
If Golesh wants Garner at Auburn, he’s probably gone. I know Heupel is loyal, to a fault, but I just can’t see him bringing Banks back.
I'm curious on Garner. I kind of thought this was his last gig as he wants to comfortable ride into retirement, not wanting to move again or start over at a new(ish) spot. Elarbee at 100% is a disheartening reality.
I’m good with cleaning house. I know Inge has done with with recruiting but his lb crew is confused, on their heels, late and guessing wrong holes too often. I don’t know how much of that is scheme. Our DL was not disruptive either nor did we stop the run. Seldom did we win 1 v matchups and penetrate the backfield.
Everyone will be offered to return, and the only ones who leave will be poached by LSU/Florida/Auburn. We'll promote support staff.
I’ve equated it more towards Banks scheme with Lbs. Am I wrong or did we just have an enormous amount of depth made up of seasoned vets on the D line? Just seems like the rotation was not what it was last year.
Flipped over to 99.1 this afternoon and it so happened to be when Bob Hodge and John Pennington were on the West/Ivens show and it wasn't Banks fault except for a few plays, y'all. We were young and lost too much.
Consider the source. I'm over-simplifying but they refused to really blame him. My counter point is two things - 1. Even if we were young and not as talented, a good DC can still get more out of it that expected. That group was trash. 2. WE NEVER GOT CONSISTENTLY BETTER THROUGHOUT THE YEAR!
Who were all the young guys on defense? The one corner and couple of backup linebackers? They weren’t that young.
