1. Talked about the 2006 team and said they were as good as any 90’s team and the only reason they didn’t go 11-1 with a BCS bowl was the starting QB getting hurt. Then specifically called out Crompton and Nick Stephens. 2. Discussed a basketball game he played in sixth grade in which he scored 19 points in a quarter. Said he reached an elite level few athletes can, such as Chris Lofton and this PG for Purdue. He in full sincerity referenced this middle school game multiple times to emphasize that he was an expert on dominant shooters and knew what we could expect tomorrow night. So basically in five minutes of air time he put himself on par with the best football and basketball we’ve ever had here. Good radio.
Did he talk about his drug and alcohol problems? I'll grant him those were pretty much elite level performances.
That 2006 team got hosed on a roughing the passer call on Mapu and Chavis'ed against LSU. The Arkansas game was a cluster[uck fay].
Him and Inky healthy and we win that game. That damn Air Force game the week before could be argued as a trajectory changer of UT football.
Seems ainge was never the same after our 70 yard hail Mary attempt going into the half that only he thought we were running.
But would you take him over Kelly, Shuler, Manning, or Martin? Because he seems to be asserting that he should be in that convo.
Not trying to pick a fight, but just how many UT quarterbacks do you leave on the bench in favor of Nick Stephens or pre-midway through the auburn game his senior year Crompton?
