Just heard 'Ol Lynn on Packer's show on XM... Talking about playing Bama and the conversation went to Sam Cunningham and his impact on Southern football. He said "Being from Alcoa Tennessee I couldn't go to the University of Tennessee because they didn't accept black athletes back then"... I guess he never heard of Lester McClain then... Swann started USC in 1970, by which time McClain was a senior. Pretty chicken shit thing to say imo, and lessens whatever respect I ever had for Swann to begin with. I can't believe Packer didn't call him on it.
Decent enough and down to earth guy. Kid plays for Army and he makes several games. He won't be a bad fit. He's certainly not the arrogant douche Haden is.
I thought it was interesting that he was putting out like he wanted to go to UT but couldn't because of raaaaaaaacism...
Perhaps it still wasn't an easy place to be but I have a problem with it if he was just throwing it out there to play to a narrative.
