I came across some rules other people are using for their upcoming online CCs for Madden '13. Most of it was just people [itch bay]ing about not being able to beat people who "cheese". But here is something we talk about every year and never seem to put out there before we start a season:

If you have a mic, use it. Even if you don't talk, have a way to communicate with your opponent. Chances are if the game pauses for a long time, he is trying to send you a message about something he may not agree with. During this communication, BE RESPECTFUL. No derogatory terms. A little trash talk is always fun, as long as you are being a good sport about it.

 

That will never happen if it's anything like our OD. Mics or not.

 

Oh well at least it was put out there in the beginning.

Also, I was thinking we will likely start the CCM (Connected Careers Mode as it is commonly being referred to) the weekend after the initial release. EA will likely release the first roster update a day or two after launch and it will give people a couple days to practice playing the game. Definitely not starting it until that initial roster update as Madden launch rosters are usually filled with holes. Thoughts?

 

Sounds good to me. Always think delaying the start is good to get used to the game and let rosters get figured out.

 

Other things can be tested and agreed upon too. (Difficulty Setting, Sliders, Qtr. Length/Accl. Clock, Player Progression, Beginning Season Injury free or same as real life injuries)

 

After playing volball in AA and witnessing his cheese ball play first hand again this year, I won't be in this if he is. Can't stand playing kids like that.

Why because I want to be in a league with no cheesers?

 

I think everyone knows that Jew and I don't want cheesers in our leagues. That having been said, we must take into account that cheese is not a objective thing. It truly does change annually depending on what EA has done to the engine and player logic. I remember when zone defenses were lock down and the next year they were useless. I remember guys who would stack the center and get nano blitzes time and time again making only the shotgun a viable formation against these [ussies pay]. My point is we're all trying to enjoy the game but that's impossible to do when opponents exploit the games predetermined A.I. instead of playing their opponent.

The game will be released on Tuesday and we probably won't start the CC until Saturday. (Estimations at this point) We all will have plenty of time to play online matches and determine what we consider fair play, and unstoppable plays in Madden '13. I'm not writing this in an attempt to close discussion on this topic, maybe just to curb it till the game releases in two weeks. opcorn:

 

I won't address what happened anymore. It's been discussed at length in the OD thread. We disagreed on what was cheesing. He didn't have a mic that was working so we didn't really get to discuss what was happening. With that said, if he said he thought it was cheesy, I would have stopped immediately.
