Just going to be a day trip for me, so I’ll probably just have enough time to grab food before the game, but if anyone knows a good place for hot chicken without an hour line, I’d be interested.

Try Boltons in East Natty on main Street right across the river.
Or Hattie Bs on Broadway but may be more crowded.
Rippys sausage and cheese plate with live music is aight and there is a Martin's with a beer garden up top on 4th for another BBQ jernt

Nashville hot chicken might be the most overrated thing since Brentwood

I actually agree on the hot chicken thing, especially if it's just in the crust and the crust slides off. Lately I've been getting precooked tenders, tossing tonys creole on them then air frying and they are as good as a restaurant.

Disagree. I only partook this year but it is a solid local food.

I like super spicy food, and I’ve had it in the Northeast and been underwhelmed (like, probably not even better than Popeyes sandwich), so I thought if there were a place that were actually good, I’d be worth a try?

Go to Prince's, they're the original

I like spicy food. I just don’t like the combination of flavors that they use quite as much. It’s not awful or anything though

This is correct. Everything else is just imitating.

I prefer to still have my taste buds after eating, but to each their own.

It is not that hot compared to Thai and it doesn't linger.

If you're testing out spiciness, then go to Boltons.

Big Shakes is actually my favorite place, but it's down in Franklin. You have to sign a waiver to eat the hottest flavor.

Not close to downtown anymore. Original location burned down, now they're in Antioch.

Bolton's is super hot, always expect a level higher spiciness than you order.
