Chaney is an excellent coach. Have been fortunate enough to speak with him for about 20-30 minutes uninterrupted on two occasions a year apart. He understands the process of how a player progresses and what is necessary to play at a high level. He knows the passing game obviously. I didn't agree with him on the blocking scheme of sprint draw style for the line in 2010 and 2011 and asked him spring 2010 if he was sure he wanted to go that route against SEC defenses. He felt he had to due to the O-line not being physical enough due to youth and inexperience. Error in judgment IMO, which he fixed this year with Pittman and a normal zone scheme. He said in the press back with Kiffin he was not much of a play caller.

If he has a HC that is an O guy - the HC could stay plugged in on the play calling and Chaney would do an excellent job IMO.
