I have changed my mind. I am sold. Should we rename it the Acuna Hall of Fame already?

First home run leader to start a game since Babe Ruth. Shaky first inning, but 9k and 1 hit over the last 4 to get the W.

Exhibit A in my defense of the shift. This is all on that hitter, if this is not a doctored photo.

Shit, why the [uck fay] isn’t the runner stealing home?

If he breaks he’s not making it I don’t think, but they’d just have to chase him back to 3rd

Lol, imagine an NFL team putting 11 guys on one side of the hashmarks because the QB never throws to the left. And people [itch bay]ing about how it was unfair because there are too many defenders on one side, instead of [itch bay]ing about their team not throwing to the wide open side of the field.

I just can’t see the view point of people who see the shift as unfair. Swallow your pride, slap it to the opposite field or lay down a bunt and make the defense play properly next time. Otherwise it’s entirely the batter’s/batter’s manager’s fault. Don’t teams explicitly have batting coaches? Wouldn’t it be part of their duties to teach their guys how to hit out of the shift?

Cecil Fielder could steal home with that much of a lead.

Seems like if just flicking the ball out there where the other team isn’t was as easy as you make it sound, the league batting average would be a lot higher than .223.

Do you not agree that bunting the ball to that side should be doable by any MLB hitter?

I don’t know that it’s so easy either but it doesn’t seem like many are trying

Chicks dig the long ball, they don't dig hitting it where they ain't.
