I like the willingness to experiment. A willingness to "patch" things breathes new life into things and generates interest-- something baseball needs from an advertising standpoint.
Maybe the coolest thing that will happen this year: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.es...row-no-hitter-night-honor-skaggs?platform=amp
Ugh, that's awful. Unfortunately, having this kind of cancer usually means he doesn't have much longer.
Yeah, it sucks. I have always said if my life was in the balance and I needed one pitcher to save it with one game, Gibson would be that pitcher every day of the week and twice on Sundays. He has had a full life, is 84, but you don't want people like that to die.

They gave up the farm...but yeah...worth it. I was feeling smug about the Braves' deals until I saw that.
It's baseball. The Braves have dealt their way into contention. They may not be the NL favorites, but they've got a damned good shot at putting themselves into a 7 games series for the NL, where all you have to get is some luck and momentum at the right time. I'm excited. They are making the right moves.
What is with the multi-pitcher no hitters the last few years? If I am pitching the 6th inning with a no hitters and the manager tells me to leave the mound I might just possibly get suspended for telling my skipper to politely go [uck fay] himself.
