It’s like with cattle. You cull the hell out of your heard when the market is up, and build once the price drops.

But that’s the opposite of how most do it.

My father-in-law acted like I smacked him in the mouth when the price sky rocketed and everyone was buying everything on four hoofs and I told him he was crazy for keeping all his heifers instead of selling them.

Even bottle dairy calf’s we’re going for 400 to 500 dollars.

I think we’re at an interesting time with public and private debt. Eventually we have to live within our means.

Public debt is well past the point of concern for me. And very few seem to care.

it's sustainable on the federal level. not so for many local cities.

I don't see how it's sustainable at the federal level at the rate it is growing.

At some point we have to cut spending and raise taxes.

That’s the only thing in Washington that has bipartisan support. Spend like crazy

The crazy part is that the government spends close to 2 dollars to get around .80 cents of economic activity.

Bloat and administrative cost I guess soak it up.

Just keeping spending and taxes flat would do it

I believe we're set to run a $1.3T deficit this year.

And I remember when Reagan took grief because it hit 4T.

yes, but tax receipts are growing to all time highs, so eventually they'll outgrow the deficit if you stop increasing spending which no one ever seems to want to do.
