Smart coaching changes aren’t always mega dollars. But Heupel has to made incredibly uncomfortable with this season. I remember when Fulmer was fired and thinking…who’s going to hire him? The answer was no one but maybe Memphis almost. So why are we paying big dollars for this guy. I’m willing to give Heupel 1 pass on not realizing we reasonably demand big time. But in all seriousness he needs to be told he embarrassed UT and it cannot ever happen again. Make the hard choices or go coach in S Dakota.
That's what I was thinking. If he's still upright after 1st just let him go. We're also assuming that Illinois would be as dumb as we were and the RB would just run in for a TD instead of downing it at the 1. The kickoff TD was great but that score was too quick. 5:00 left and only needing a FG was taps for this defense and Heupel's clock management woes.
There wasn’t a fan watching after that KO return who thought we would hold them. Woulda been incredible to just watch us back off and give them a 75 yard td. Kinda like the old pooch punt on 3rd down when a coach said eff you guys I can’t trust you so am just giving them the ball back.
