Onside kick would have been the smart play.

with our defense I would be onside kicking every time and playing four downs to gain 10 yards.

They really picked on William Wright last night too, he was always 10 yards back.

At a certain point you have to just play your man and if they beat you, okay. Just giving up easy catches over and over isn’t ever going to work

I have never coached defense a day in my life but it seemed to me any throw over 15 yards that guy made kinda floated around, and I don’t understand why we didn’t dare them to go over our heads

It's worse than getting beat deep. Imo

    Death by a thousand cuts

Particularly with our capabilities on offense. Tighten up and either get a stop or get the ball back quickly. SSMIFF has pointed out all the issues of 6+ minute drives.

everybody sees it. Watching this Vandy game in every more pissed. They have negative yards rushing going into halftime vs Iowa, who’s defensive players to a man were lower ranked than our players. We gave up 300+ yards rushing to them. Disgusting. Making my leftover chili not go down well.

How about we don’t. Could be a great first step.

Yep. That Vandy team dominated on both sides of the ball, and made us like it. We were a very weak, very shitty team.

Now that Kesling is gone, this is the worst thing about UT sports.

It seems so. Mississippi State but a downward trajectory

Pretty much. I hope more than anything for this to be a one year anomaly, but there are so many issues all over the place.

2022 was the anomaly. The other decent years were more a product of schedule than anything else. Next year is going to be rough.

It really is. It will be nightmare territory for Heupel and White.

I hope they saw from the Music City Bowl attendance how quickly demand will dry up when hope fades.
