My Prediction for Florida

If UF hired Kelly, then LSU would be in the same boat as UT, because they are the only other team in the world that has to play both Bama and Florida every year.

Personally, I do hope that Kelly goes to Notre Dame, because I really would hate to be at the point where I TRULY would turn off college football in the fall.

I totally agree with you(r previous post)... if UF gets Kelly at some point, then that really is the final nail in the coffin. Aside from Meyer, there is no other coach I can think of who has a chance of beating BOTH Kelly and Saban every year... (and yes, I'm aware of Harbaugh, but I think he's just short-timing it at Michigan til he goes back to the NFL).

If anybody else knows of a PROVEN guy to compete with those two year in/year out, I'm all ears.

EDIT: ...don't bring up Gruden. Let's just talk ACTIVE, proven coaches.

Won't really matter in two years if Bama has Saban and UF has Chip Kelly. We are looking at Gruden or some other crazy awesome hire or we're irrelevant for a long time.

 

Knowing that Florida would make the move on Kelly and Tennessee would be standing there on the outside looking in, I'm going to express my current feelings in the simplest way I can; I love my school but hate it's football program.

 

nothing like getting dominated every year by your biggest "rivals."

 

Hell, Tennessee would have given 5 years to Muschamp after his first year's accomplishments. Excuse me, second year if you don't count the first year as year zero.

Not just directed at your post... Our best hope is one of these kind of jackasses they have seemed bound and determined to hire can actually coach. The "blind hog" theory I'd like to think.

I think my lack of faith in McElwain as a football coach has been well documented over the past couple seasons, but hasn't UF won the East each of the last two years?

Hard to see them making a move.

 

You guys can laugh all you want, but he's a good football coach.

 

He's Butch, Jr. Even more annoying.

I don't care if he's a better coach than Butch, I don't want him.

 

Fleck is everything Butch would be if he were good-looking, charismatic, and semi-competent. Butch must hate that guy.

I think he's got the potential to be really good. He's a high energy guy but I don't think it's forced like Butch.

He can actually coach and has some balls
